"Co-opetition" a win for the USPS, private carriers and consumers.
Co-opetition, a new word used in the mailing and shipping industry, means cooperating with your competition to better serve consumers and ultimately, improve your bottom line.
Today, co-opetition is seen in the partnership of the US Postal Service (USPS), delivering Amazon’s online purchases to consumers on Sundays. Other examples include UPS’s Surepost and FedEx’s SmartPost services that work with the USPS to deliver their packages to the last mile into residential mail boxes.
The USPS Office of Inspector General (OIG) recently published a white paper on the benefits of co-opettion in greater detail. Read it here and see why the OIG calls co-opetition a “win win win” for the USPS, private carriers and consumers.
